If you're a University student and interested in attending GDC Europe in exchange for volunteering approximately 13 hours of work (orientation and preparing conference on Sunday not included) with a fantastic group of people, then apply for the Conference Associate (CA) program!

GDC Europe 2010 runs from Monday morning, August 16 through Wednesday evening, August 18, 2010. Conference Associates have pre-conference assignments and a required orientation (orientation & preparing-day Sunday 15, 2010). If you are accepted into the program, you are needed from the start of your orientation through the end of the conference on the evening of Wednesday, August 18, so please plan accordingly.

What are the benefits?

Complimentary registration equivalent to a "Main Conference Pass" that can be used when not on-duty. Your Main Conference Pass also includes a one-day trade visitor ticket for gamescom 2010. A Main Conference Pass to GDC Europe gets you access to:

Over 80 lectures, panels, workshops, roundtables and keynote sessions (Mon-Wed)
Lunch catering on all conference days (Mon-Wed)
All GDC Europe networking events & parties, including GDC Night (Mon), GDC Club Party (Tues), and expo floor booth crawl (TBA)
GDC Europe Expo Floor (Sun-Tues)
A one-day trade visitor ticket for gamescom 2010 (Wed)

What do we expect from you?

We expect: accuracy, politeness and reliability (to the team and attendees)
Dress code: casual to smart casual (long shorts, etc.)

What kind of work does the job involve?

Challenging tasks (some might require advanced degrees) such as:

Guarding doors, checking badges
Monitoring conference sessions
Assisting speakers in their sessions
Checking badges during meals and special events
Stuffing/Assembling conference bags
Answer questions from attendees
Data entry... And much more!

You will still be responsible for:

Travel expenses to and from the conference
Hotel or housing expenses
Food expenses for any meals which are not normally provided to "Main Conference Pass" holders

NOTE: We do our best to keep the working time for every one as short and enjoyable as possible. However, while individual needs will be taken into consideration, we cannot guarantee that all requests will be granted.
